Programs and Education
The Joel Lane Museum House offers our signature historical programming in a variety of formats to suit groups of all sorts. Whether you’d like to visit the museum with a field trip or outing or bring one of our docents to you, we can work with you to bring Raleigh’s earliest history to life, on-site or off-site, at any age. Our docents and living historians specialize in superb storytelling, for a personalized glimpse of the little-known history of 18th-century North Carolina.
Can’t bring your students out for a field trip? We can come to you with our Hands-On History program, in full 18th-century costume. Schedule a classroom visit.
Off-site presentations are available for adult groups, at your meeting place. Costumed docents bring the 18th century to life in your facility with Hands-On History.
Schedule a field trip for your school group to the birthplace of North Carolina’s capital! A memorable, hands-on experience of the American Revolution, ealry Raleigh and North Carolina, and backcountry 18th-century colonial life. Tailored to the age of the students and state standards.
